Unique peer recognition Award categories and shortlist announced
The Jaguar Academy of Sport is pleased to announce that the inaugural Jaguar Academy of Sport Awards will take place on the 7th November 2010 in the Long Room at Lord's. The ceremony will be a celebration of the best of British sporting achievement in 2010 with a particular focus on those athletes and performances that have helped to inspire the next generation. The Academy of Sport Awards are unique in British Sport in terms of their peer recognition, with the judging panel formed by the Patrons and Ambassadors of the Jaguar Academy of Sport, many of the most famous sportsmen and women in the nation.
There are eight Award categories with nominees including Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah, AP McCoy, Graeme McDowell, and Ellie Simmonds. A particular highlight will be the presentation of special Awards to five of the best performing young athletes from the 35 recipients of the Jaguar Academy of Sport Bursary Fund in 2010. These talented youngsters represent the next generation of British sporting talent and success, the development of which is at the heart of the Jaguar Academy of Sport. The five young winners will have their achievements recognised by their sporting heroes, some of the Patrons and Ambassadors of the Jaguar Academy of Sport, who will present them with their awards on the night.
