Jaguar today announced a new partnership with The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to become the Official Vehicle supplier of British Tennis. The partnership, which lasts for three years, will see Jaguar as an Official Supplier to the AEGON British Tennis Series as well as the AEGON GB Davis Cup Team. To support their new involvement in tennis, Jaguar has also agreed to sponsor the AEGON Masters Tennis 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall which features players such as Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski.
The agreement with the LTA includes access to the National Tennis Centre which will provide an opportunity to support the 'Jaguar Academy of Sport' ‑ a scheme which aims to recognise, celebrate and inspire the very best of young British sporting talent and success.
Jaguar will also receive a host of commercial rights at the LTA's major grass court events in the Summer including the AEGON Championships at The Queen's Club and their ATP and WTA events in Birmingham and Eastbourne including exclusive opportunities to showcase the Jaguar range of XJ, XK and XF cars.
Roger Draper, Chief Executive of the LTA said: "We're delighted to welcome Jaguar as a partner of British Tennis and into our ever growing sponsor family of world class brands. In recognising the work Jaguar are doing through their Academy of Sport, we clearly share an interest in helping develop the young stars of the future. We are therefore looking forward to developing a close working partnership with one of Britain's most iconic brands."
Geoff Cousins, Jaguar UK Managing Director, said: "Tennis has far‑reaching consumer appeal in the UK and through this partnership with the LTA we hope to showcase our similarly diverse XJ, XK and XF car range to the British tennis public. The Jaguar Academy of Sport is growing from strength to strength and we look forward to working with the LTA as two great British brands seek to develop the sport further in the UK."
Tim Henman, former world number 4 and AEGON Masters Tennis competitor said: "I'm delighted to be back on the court at such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall for the AEGON Tennis Masters. The opportunity to play against old friends and rivals such as Goran Ivanisevic and Pat Rafter is something I am really looking forward to."
