9th November 2011. Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum and British racing driver and Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador, Martin Brundle held a discovery evening at Alfred Dunhill in Mayfair last night looking at the Future of Motoring.

Ian Callum provided a fascinating insight into the challenges facing vehicle designers both now and in the future while Martin Brundle talked the audience through his career in F1 as well as the state of the sport now and how it will evolve in the future.

Martin Brundle, Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador, commented: "I very much enjoyed co‑hosting the Jaguar event at Dunhill. I've known Ian for many years and we share a passion for cars and motorsport. It was fascinating to exchange views on road cars and Formula One as they stand today, and where they might head in the next 20 years. I wasintrigued to hear how it feels to be ultimately responsible for the design philosophy on billions of pounds worth of investment in future Jaguars. We also compared notes on how motorsport has influenced cardesign."

Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director, Jaguar UK commented: "Hosting the evening with Martin Brundle was fantastic, thrashing around ideas about likely developments.  Cars are so much more efficient than they were 10 years ago but ultimately we need to carry on delivering what our customers want."

The Jaguar Academy of Sport aims to recognise, celebrate and inspire the very best of British sporting talent and success. This is fulfilled through a Bursary Fund and a unique Mentoring and Education Programme delivered through a series of workshops and talent days. Mentoring is key to the Academy and provides all the Rising Stars with the non‑financial support they need in order to be successful and provides our Rising Stars with the opportunity to work with Britain's sporting greats and their heroes who they hope to emulate.
