The Jaguar C‑X16 Concept has been recognised for its stunning design by users of AutoExpress.co.uk.

In a toughly contested category in this year's Auto Express New Car Awards, Jaguar's C‑X16 Concept, originally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, emerged as the clear winner.

Steve Fowler, Editor‑in‑Chief, Auto Express, commented; "We knew what a fabulous design the C‑X16 was from the moment the covers were taken off at the Frankfurt motor show last year. Now it's clear that our readers agree ‑ the C‑X16 was a clear winner in our poll. It's huge credit to Jaguar's design team and bodes well for the forthcoming F‑TYPE, which the car previews."

In April, Jaguar announced the C‑X16 concept is to be brought to life in the form of an all‑new sports car ‑ the F‑TYPE.

Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars, said; "It is the positive reaction from the public to the C‑X16 that has prompted the acceleration of the F‑TYPE programme. This award highlights that the concept car delivers a desirable proposition to the market, a proposition we are developing and look forward to introducing to the world later in the year."

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar Cars added; "Recognition from the public is always a wonderful thing to receive. We are very encouraged that people have been so positive towards the design principles of the C‑X16 and are confident this positivity will continue as we get closer to the F‑TYPE being seen in its final form."
