At this year’s Wimbledon, British No.1 Andy Murray will join Jaguar – to serve up the brand’s 2016 #FeelWimbledon campaign.

At this year’s Wimbledon, British No.1 Andy Murray will join Jaguar –– to serve up the brand’s 2016 #FeelWimbledon campaign. Andy Murray and Jaguar are a perfect fit, both are British, world class and driven to be successful.

The highlight of Jaguar’s customer engagement plans for this year’s tournament is an innovative cutting‑edge virtual reality experience. The VR features a flyover of The All  England Lawn Tennis Club populated with 14,000 characters, offering tennis fans the chance to step into Andy Murray’s shoes on Wimbledon’s legendary Centre Court. 

Having personally invested in several technology start‑ups this year, the new Jaguar UK ambassador shared his thoughts on joining the leading UK luxury car manufacturer to bring fans closer to the emotions of The Championships.

There’s no greater feeling than walking out onto Centre Court – it makes your hairs stand on end. It’s hosted so many incredible matches and great champions, making the atmosphere one of a kind. This special experience is reserved for very few players and supporters, so it’s amazing that Jaguar’s VR experience can bring people closer to the unique feeling of tennis’ most famous court!

Murray, who owns a Jaguar F‑TYPE Coupé and has already placed an order for the new Jaguar F‑PACE, also discussed his quest to secure a second Wimbledon title.

I’m coming into Wimbledon on great form after winning at Queens, and reaching two Grand Slam finals this year. Having Ivan (Lendl) back on board has been great and really sharpened up preparations. He knows what it’s like to deal with big pressure, and there’s no greater challenge than being British at Wimbledon. I’m looking forward to it.

The virtual reality experience will debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jaguar’s flagship motorsport event of the year. For fans travelling to Wimbledon and commuters passing through London Waterloo railway station, a Jaguar #FeelWimbledon experiential zone will be in operation on the concourse for the duration of the tournament.

As well as Jaguar’s Waterloo domination, 20,000 Google Cardboards will be distributed to Jaguar retailers, commuters and tennis fans throughout the campaign. Google Cardboard users can access Jaguar’s Andy Murray Virtual Reality experience by visiting www.feelwimbledon.com.

Jaguar Land Rover will also supply 170 luxury, high performance vehicles to support tournament operations.

The fleet of luxury chauffeur vehicles includes the All‑New Jaguar F‑PACE which is now on sale at Jaguar retailers. The F‑PACE is a lot like a top tennis player, fast but with great grip and poise under pressure. It’s also ultra‑adaptable to all conditions and weather ‑ courtesy of its all wheel drive.
