- Jaguar Classic announces latest collaboration with Scottish whisky maker The Glenturret
- The creation celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Jaguar D‑type and completes a trio of Jaguar‑inspired single malt whiskies introduced over the last four years
- The highly exclusive run is limited to 270 bottles globally
Coventry, United Kingdom – 18 June 2025: Jaguar Classic and The Glenturret – Scotland’s oldest working distillery – are marking the 70th anniversary of the Jaguar D‑type with the latest edition in their whisky collaboration series.
The newly released single malt is a celebration of the legendary Jaguar D‑type, a vehicle boasting advanced engineering and bold design when it was introduced seven decades ago. The limited run of 270 bottles completes the trio paying tribute to iconic sports cars from Jaguar’s history, complementing the C‑type and E‑type editions.
In 2021, The Glenturret and Jaguar Classic released 265 bottles of a bespoke 30‑year‑old single malt for the 60th anniversary of the E‑type, a car often regarded as the most beautiful ever created. Subsequently, in 2024, the pair collaborated with a 32‑year‑old whisky to honour the C‑type’s 70th anniversary. The 220 bottles produced represented the horsepower of the famous XK engine found in the Le Mans‑winning car.
It feels very apt to be collaborating with such a prestigious brand to celebrate the engineering success of one of Jaguar’s finest automobiles – and complete the trio of whiskies that are as exclusive as our vehicles. Like Jaguar Classic, The Glenturret are purveyors of perfection, and our shared ethos is reflected in the craftmanship of both of our talented teams.

Director, Jaguar Classic
The whisky is a minimum of 35 years old and drawn from six casks. Three Pedro Ximenez sherry‑seasoned European oak hogsheads impart rich fruit and warm spices, while two oloroso‑seasoned American oak casks bring vanilla and cinnamon. Finally, an American oak refill hogshead delivers delicate light oak notes.
Tasting notes include rich dried fruits and toffee apples, dusted with cinnamon. Warm notes of ginger and nutmeg are interwoven with green apple. The warm but subtle finish has hints of resinous wood and fruits, with a slight oily texture.
It is an honour to be working with Jaguar on our third single malt whisky. The Glenturret customers appreciate detail, craftmanship and design, which aligns perfectly with the ethos of Jaguar and its rich history as a British brand, and to celebrate the anniversary of one of its best – the D‑type – is a truly special opportunity.

About the Jaguar D‑type
Conceived in 1954 as a purpose‑built racing car, the Jaguar D‑type utilised advanced aerodynamics and innovative technologies for its time, leaving an enduring legacy in automotive history.
The D‑type leveraged insights gained from its predecessor, the mighty C‑type. A key D‑type feature was its monocoque construction – the first for Jaguar – a lightweight yet strong design borrowed from aircraft engineering. This approach marked a significant departure from the traditional ladder‑frame chassis used in earlier cars, contributing to improved performance and handling.
The D‑type is a symbol of British ingenuity and motorsport excellence. With its groundbreaking design and unparalleled racing achievements, it has cemented its place in automotive history.
The D‑type’s production was relatively limited, making its beautiful silhouette an uncommon sight. However, D‑types were not just limited to Jaguar’s own 18 Works racing cars, 75 cars were built for private customers to enjoy racing success. A further 25 D‑type Continuation vehicles were also created by Jaguar Classic to complete the run of 100 client vehicles originally planned, making them extremely collectible and sought‑after automotive gems.
The Glenturret has released only 270 70cl bottles of this limited‑edition single malt. It is available now exclusively on www.theglenturret.com, RRP £2,200.
