Jaguar Land Rover Firing On All Cylinders At Paris Motor Show
11 October 2010
Jaguar Land Rover had a great Paris Motor Show this year. As the company's U.S. spokesperson, that’s easy for me to say, but the facts on the ground support the claim, and many in the media are in agreement, writes Stuart Schorr, Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs, Jaguar Land Rover, North America.
Auto show media previews are geared to present three things: new production vehicles, concept vehicles that speak to the future and an overall look into the state of affairs for the various automotive companies. Jaguar Land Rover accomplished all three in an extraordinary way during this year's Paris Motor Show.
Range Rover Evoque: An important new vehicle with a dramatic design. The Evoque shows that the Range Rover brand can play in the more fuel‑efficient end of the market.
Jaguar C‑X75: A Jaguar concept that appeals equally to gear heads and advanced technology environmental advocates. Sizzling looks and high performance? Check. Visionary technology and low emissions? Check. AutoWeek's Best in Show. CHECK!
Lastly, but not least, from a corporate perspective, Jaguar Land Rover was highly visible. Maintaining the momentum we began at the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Jaguar and Land Rovers were everywhere ‑‑ from the streets of Paris with our art installations celebrating the new Evoque; to our highly visible two new products taking center stage at the Paris Motor Show. Our executive management team, including Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover and Carl‑Peter Forster, CEO of Tata Motors, spent time with various media from around the world.
To add, Jaguar Land Rover's results have been steadily improving. Land Rover's U.S. sales in Sept. were up 12 percent over Sept. 2009; marking a full year of consecutive month U.S. sales growth for the brand and Jaguar enjoyed a 10 percent increase in sales for Sept. as well. Both brands, with their highly focused and evolving vehicle lineups, have been well received and the buzz generated from both the Range Rover Evoque and the Jaguar C‑X75 made this dual branded powerhouse the true breakout star of the Paris Motor Show.
Next up, the Los Angeles International Automobile Show in November 2010. See you there!
