The Top Five GRAMMY Nominated Songs That Will Rock In The All-New XJ

25 January 2010

You’ll have to wait till this Sunday (January 31st) and the 52nd Annual GRAMMY® Awards to find out who wins Record of the Year, Album of the Year and every category in between – from Best Hawaiian Album, to Best Comedy Album (Kathy Griffin’s Suckin’ It In For The Holidays gets our vote).

But to build a little GRAMMY® excitement, we called up Matt Jones at Jaguar’s Whitley Engineering Centre in the UK. Matt is Technical Specialist for Jaguar Audio Systems and worked closely with the audiophiles at Bowers & Wilkins to develop the mind‑blowing top‑of‑the‑line 1200 Watt, 20‑speaker, 15 channel surround sound system for our all‑new 2011 XJ.

The brief to Matt was simple; download all the top nominated songs on to the office iPod®, stretch out in the backseat of the all‑new XJ, and play them through the B&W’s cinema‑quality 7.1 surround sound system with its Dolby Pro Logic IIx and DTS Neo 6 encoders.

Then the tough part; come up with a list of the “Top Five GRAMMY® Nominated Songs That Will Rock In The All‑new XJ”. Here are his top five picks:‑

5. "Run This Town" – JAY‑Z, Rihanna & Kanye West
4. "Hot ’N Cold" – Katy Perry
3. "Never Say Never" – The Fray
2. "Sober" – Pink
1. "I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight" – U2

“There’s some terrific music nominated this year, but U2’s I’ll Go Crazy just comes alive when it’s played really loud through the XJ’s system,” says Matt. “I guarantee that anyone listening to this new system will be blown away by the sound quality. It’s like having home theater in the car”.
