Track Ready and Street Legal Jaguar XKR-S GT on Display at SEMA

This week, thousands of people from the automotive aftermarket industry will converge in Las Vegas for the annual SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) show. The show hosts an extraordinarily diverse mix of the automotive aftermarket, including equipment, parts, services and technology, for everything from on‑road performance, off‑road, professional motorsports, car care and in‑car entertainment.

This year, Jaguar will be displaying the 550hp 2014 Jaguar XKR‑S GT in partnership with Pirelli. Pirelli P Zero^TM Corsa tires were chosen by Jaguar engineers as the OEM fitted tires for this extraordinary vehicle.

The 2014 Jaguar XKR‑S GT is a track‑ready and street legal version of the XK Coupe. Conceived by a small group of engineers at the Jaguar headquarters in England, this car was tested and tuned at the Jaguar test center in Nürburgring circuit, Germany. Like most Jaguar cars, the Jaguar XKR‑S GT is constructed on an all‑aluminum body structure, assembled using aerospace derived bonding and riveting techniques.
 

This vehicle achieves aerodynamic down force through the addition of a carbon‑fiber front splitter, dive planes, extended wheel arch spats, an elevated rear wing, rear diffuser and an aluminum undertray.

The XKR‑S GT reaches 60mph in 3.9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h)**. Powered by a 550hp, 502 lb/ft supercharged 5‑liter V8 engine, the power is put down to the ground through a ZF automatic transmission and an active electronically controlled rear differential. Deceleration duties are handled by a carbon ceramic brake system.

With an extremely limited production number, only 25 are destined for the United States. It's on sale now with a price tag of $174,000*.
