Jaguar Releases XF Sedan TV Commercial "Growler" Narrated by British Actor Benedict Cumberbatch

10 March 2014

The Jaguar XF can be dashing and understated, but when the fast growing British brand’s sedan growls, it cannot be ignored, especially by its four‑wheeled German brand competitors. You can see, and hear the XF roar in Jaguar’s latest advertisement, “Growler,” debuting today on national network and cable TV.

Delivering the appropriate level of British charm and narrating the national 30 second TV spot, is none other than hot British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, who joins the brand’s cast of British Villains. A familiar voice to some, Cumberbatch has lent his voice to many recent Jaguar commercials.

Another familiar sound that can be heard in “Growler” is the soundtrack, which was originally created for Jaguar’s popular “Rendezvous” TV spot that debuted during this year’s Super Bowl. This fantastic score was conducted by Alexandre Desplat and recorded by The London Symphony Orchestra at the iconic Abbey Road studios.

Jaguar continues to be one the fastest growing luxury automotive brands with sales up 33 percent through February 2014, and the XF sedan leading the charge, up 41 percent.

Jaguar’s momentum has been fueled by an expanding product portfolio, including the all‑new F‑TYPE Convertible (Coupe on sale in the spring) and an aggressive marketing campaign, British Villains, which has increased brand awareness like never before.

“The ‘Growler’ spot delivers on the personality of the XF, and reflects Jaguar’s role in the luxury market as the progressive British challenger brand,” said Jeff Curry, Brand Vice President, Jaguar North America. “The commercial makes the strong statement that Jaguar will continue to mark its unique territory in the luxury automotive space.”
