- Jaguar XE will feature a 340hp supercharged 3.0‑litre V6 engine with a 0‑100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 249 km/h1
- F‑TYPE Project 7 named in honour of seven Jaguar wins at Le Mans, is a road‑legal two‑seater inspired by the Jaguar D‑Type and created by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team
(Toronto, ON) ‑February 12, 2015‑ Jaguar will showcase its 2015 model year line up at the 2015 Canadian Auto Show held February 13 to 22, 2015. The 2016 XE and F‑TYPE Project 7 will be making their Canadian debut.
2016 Jaguar XE
A true driver's car, the aluminum‑intensive Jaguar XE redefines the concept of the sports sedan thanks to its advanced lightweight construction, streamlined styling, luxurious interior, and outstanding ride and handling. It is also the first model developed from the new JLR modular vehicle architecture. The XE goes on sale in 2015 in Global Markets and in 2016 in North America. The high‑performance S model will be at the top of the global line‑up at launch in 2015.
The Jaguar XE S model provides responsiveness and refinement from a supercharged 3.0‑litre V6. Generating 340hp and 332 lb‑ft of torque, this engine is linked to an eight‑speed automatic transmission with paddle shift controls. Accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, the XE S has an electronically‑limited top speed of 249 km/h1. The Jaguar XE will be the first Jaguar to be equipped with electric power steering. The long wheelbase and low seating position enable perfect proportions and a streamlined, coupe‑like profile. The S model's large front air intakes, chrome side vents, discreet rear spoiler and optional 20‑inch forged alloy wheels reinforce its' performance potential.
The XE completes the Jaguar sedan range sitting below the XF and XJ models.
Jaguar F‑TYPE Project 7
The Jaguar F‑TYPE Project 7 is the production version of the F‑TYPE Project 7. Created by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) tea, F‑TYPE Project 7 is named to reflect seven Jaguar overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, F‑TYPE Project 7 is inspired by the Jaguar D‑Type which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. The vehicle will feature a 575hp 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine with a 0‑100 km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds and an electronically‑limited top speed of 300 km/h1.
The F‑TYPE Project 7 will come to market in two standard colour schemes ‑ Glacier White, a metallic white which is the feature colour for the model and Ultra Blue, a metallic take on French Racing Blue and the signature colour of the Jaguar Land Rover SVO team. British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red will also be available as optional upgrades.
2016 Jaguar F‑TYPE
The 2016 Jaguar F‑TYPE will receive substantial upgrades, including the addition of Instinctive All Wheel Drive® (AWD) as standard on R models and an option on S models, an available six‑speed manual transmission available on Rear‑Wheel Drive V6‑powered models, and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS)1. The fundamentals remain true to core DNA of Jaguar vehicles: lightweight construction, refined power, perfect proportions and outstanding design.
The enhancements broaden the F‑TYPE range, from a supercharged V6 driving the rear wheels through a manual gearbox, to the 550hp F‑TYPE R Coupe and Convertible with the supercharged V8, AWD and eight‑speed Quickshift automatic transmission. The V8's propelling all four wheels helps the R models to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds on the way to a maximum track speed of 300 km/h21.
While the Jaguar eight‑speed automatic transmission offers an excellent blend of shift speed, comfort and refinement, there will always be a select group of enthusiasts who want the satisfaction which comes from changing gear manually. To meet that demand a six‑speed manual transmission is now exclusively available for the V6 and rear‑wheel drive (RWD) configuration. The car features a short‑throw gear lever with a travel of only 45mm (1.77‑inches), closely‑spaced ratios, and pedals well placed for heel‑and‑toe changes.
The F‑TYPE becomes the first Jaguar sports car to use Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS). Years of development ensure that the technology is now mature enough to deliver the expected response and feel. This electric system provides power assistance only when needed, reducing fuel consumption.
Those seeking the ultimate in top down performance will now find it in the new F‑TYPE R Convertible, with standard AWD and 550hp, which replaces the RWD‑only 495hp F‑TYPE V8 S. A 5.0‑litre V8 combines direct injection and a twin‑vortex supercharger to provide immediate response to the driver. With the top down on an open road, this engine's unmistakable soundtrack is exhilarating.
Developing 550hp and 502lb‑ft of torque, the all‑alloy quad‑cam engine in the R Coupe and Convertible is matched exclusively to the QuickShift automatic transmission and All‑Wheel Drive. The extra traction of AWD enables the R Convertible to accelerate from 0‑100 km/h in only 4.1 seconds ‑ matching the R Coupe ‑ up to an electronically‑limited top speed of 300 km/h.
The new 2016 model year F‑TYPE Coupe and Convertible range will consist of: F‑TYPE (340hp, rear wheel drive with automatic or manual), F‑TYPE S Coupe (380hp automatic with RWD or AWD, or manual with rear‑wheel drive), and F‑TYPE R (550hp automatic with AWD).
2015 Jaguar XK
The Jaguar XK Coupe and Convertible models have entered their last year for 2015, and the final run for Canada will be exclusively XKR and XKR‑S models. Both continue to offer Coupe and Convertible variants, and both keep the same MSRPs as the 2014 models. Jaguar has also streamlined trim and colour choices, augmented standard equipment and reconfigured options.
The XKR versions continue with a 510 Supercharged 5‑litre V8 and chassis upgrades, and the ultra‑performance XKR‑S models have a 550hp supercharged V8, upgraded chassis and exclusive aerodynamic design.
For 2015, the XKR gets red painted brake callipers and bright metallic pedals as standard (previously optional). The Dynamic Pack returns as an option for the XKR, equipping it with aerodynamic body styling and suspension tuning from the XKR‑S and a higher top track speed of 280 km/h (vs. 250 km/h standard)1. The Portfolio Pack is discontinued, but its Truffle interior and Orona wheels are now available as standalone options.
2015 Jaguar XF
Following a model year that added major powertrain updates, the Jaguar XF enters 2015 with expanded standard equipment and realigned pricing for an even greater competitive advantage. New Luxury and Sport versions join the line, adding popular equipment and distinctive design features with compelling new value positions.
A new 2.0T Luxury variant augments the 2.0T model and packages features that have proven popular with customers, including the Premium Pack, at a significant cost advantage compared to ordering those options previously. Likewise, the new XF 3.0 AWD Luxury and XF 3.0 AWD Sport add significant content at a substantial value while also presenting the customer with two distinct personalities of the XF. The 3.0 AWD base model continues to be available.
A sporting mid‑size luxury sedan with a seductive design, the Jaguar XF continues to offer a wide gamut of performance choices: 240hp 2‑litre turbocharged I4; 340hp supercharged 3‑litre V6, and a 5‑litre V8 in 510hp and 550hp levels. The 3‑litre models come standard with Jaguar Instinctive All Wheel Drive®. All 2015 XF models feature a standard eight‑speed automatic transmission, and the V6 and V8 versions additionally include Intelligent Stop/Start to optimize fuel efficiency.
The XFR, powered by the 510hp supercharged V8, gains red painted brake calipers for 2015. The XFR‑S ultra‑performance model with a 550hp supercharged V8 and eight‑speed Quickshift automatic transmission is unchanged and continues to be available in limited numbers.
The XF sedan design combines the visual impact of a coupe profile with the practical nature that has always defined Jaguar sedans. Also drawing from the Jaguar sport sedan heritage, the XF offers a highly practical package, including a large 501‑litre trunk.
2015 Jaguar XJ
The Jaguar XJ delivers the quintessence of British luxury, combining supercharged performance and cutting‑edge construction technology with a nearly bespoke‑level of interior craftsmanship. The brand's innovative aluminum‑intensive construction, combined with advanced standard Adaptive Dynamics suspension, endows the Jaguar XJ with an agile, distinctly sporty driving character that is rare in the segment.
The 2015 XJ range offers two wheelbase lengths, three supercharged engines, and Jaguar Instinctive All Wheel Drive®. The AWD system is teamed as standard with the 340hp 3‑litre supercharged V6 engine. An active torque‑management system, Instinctive All Wheel Drive® offers a performance‑oriented rear‑drive bias and can shift power to the front wheels to either pre‑empt or counter wheel slip2. Above the 3‑litre models, the 2015 Jaguar XJ Supercharged model uses a 470hp supercharged 5‑litre V8. The range‑topping XJR, also available in both wheelbase lengths, exclusively features a 550hp supercharged V8.
Coupled to the 8‑speed ZF automatic transmission, the supercharged V6 delivers an outstanding combination of performance and fuel efficiency in its class. All XJ engines feature the Intelligent Stop/Start system for improved fuel economy.
The long‑wheelbase XJ models offer 1,220 mm (44.1 inches) of rear seat legroom, which is 130 mm (5.1 inches) more than in the standard‑wheelbase versions. The XJ is fitted with the most luxurious interior offered in a Jaguar, blending a wide choice of leather and wood finishes with intuitive infotainment technology.
